Started running because:
To stay in shape for basketball my freshman year in high school.
I knew I was hooked on running when:
I decided I'd rather run in the summer than play summer league basketball, and I began flailing my wrists about as if I were running while I was walking from place to place.
Favorite places to run:
Cougar Mtn. in Bellevue, WA.
Current weekly mileage:
60 miles per week

The mile.

I really didn't have any conceptions about running at all before I started doing it.
Any pre-race superstitions?
Nope.
Training philosophy/schedule:
IF IT'S AN EASY DAY, RUN EASY!!!
Training diet:
During season, I eat one thing and one thing only: Jambalaya.
One piece of advice I'd give to other runners is:
IF IT'S AN EASY DAY, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD AND DECENT, RUN EASY!!!
If I could go on a social/training run with any person, living or dead, it would be:
John Candy.
When nobody's looking, I like to:
Shove a dart into a trombone, then take a huge breath and blow the dart out of the trombone.

Once a Runner by John L. Park
My least favorite physical feature:
Arms. I friggen hate those things!
One of my hidden talents is:
I do a mean impression of Scooby Doo.
My idea of a dream vacation is:
An all expenses paid trip to Hawaii. I decide when I leave, who goes with me, what we do while were there, and when we come home. Any questions?
Other interests:
Guitar, basketball, and learning to fly.
What was your first impression of Tech?
That it is immensely enormous.
The most impulsive thing I've ever done is:
I once jumped up in front of 2,000 people at the awards ceremony of a race and ran, screaming and yelling all the way down to the awards stand, to give to winner of a girls race that I watched, a Hershey's kiss and a piece of licorice. I did it because I lost a bet to my coach.
One thing that other track team members would love to know about me is:
I'm really not sure. If this bio creates in nagging questions in the minds of other track athletes, please feel free to ask me.
What would you want written on your tombstone?
Here lies Adam Lawless, and why not?
Quote:
"There is a time in every man's education where he arrives at the conviction that envy is ignorance; that imitation is suicide; that he must take himself, for better, for worse, as his own portion."
