I decided the discus looked like fun so I picked it up and started throwing it. When I didn't fall over I managed to make the cut for the next meet.

I didn't mind spending my entire day at the track

One of my misconceptions about throwing was:
I didn't know that I would have to be able to squat a semi

nope - just make sure you have fun

The first time I came I watched Swoopes and the Lady Raiders beat A&M, after that even the smell couldn't make me leave
